My husband, children and I have matching, brightly colored hats. It's really easy to find us in a crowd. A few months ago at a fund raiser I noticed one of my friends searching for her daughter. She was having some difficulty finding her because all of the little girls at the event seemed to be wearing pink jackets and pink fleece hats. I have to say that in the crowd it was even hard to find my Brother in law and his wife, much less a small child. On the other hand, I knew exactly where my husband and kids were just by looking for their orange and yellow hats.
Custom family hats for a family of 4 start at $80 for loomed hats without ear flaps in acrylic machine washable yarn. The price will increase for hand knit hats as well as for premium fibers like wool and washable wool.
Toddler Hats
If you just want a warm hat for your toddler that's one of a kind, I can do that too! A loomed acrylic hat for a toddler will run around $15, a hand knit $20. However, the colors and styles will be unlike what you can find in stores, insuring that your child's hat is unique.

Hats for Grown-ups
Adult hats start at $25 for a size regular loomed hat ($30 for a large loomed hat) and are also available in a variety of great colors and fibers.
